Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Nissan NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583100 and 584100) are universal application oval steps available in silver or black aluminum. They are designed to mount to vehicle-specific bracket packages. The manual covers installation with Mega Step Brackets (571164) and Grip Step Brackets (401164) for 2011 Nissan NV Vans in short and long versions. For other vehicles, you must use the appropriate bracket package designed for your vehicle.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps package includes: one 33" or 95" aluminum extrusion (silver or black), four step pads (Item #3), four end caps (Item #4), 18 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (Item #5), 18 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #6), and 24 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" (Item #7). The bracket package is separate and includes its own fasteners.
The bracket package includes six mounting brackets (either Mega Step 552021 or Grip Step 552131), six hex head cap screws 5/16-18 x 1.0" (Item #2), 12 flat washers 5/16" (Item #3), six serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (Item #4), and 12 hex head self-tapping screws 1/4" x 3/4" (Item #5).
You will need a drill with bits for 1/8", 5/32", and 3/8" holes, a wrench or socket set for 5/16" fasteners, and a torque wrench calibrated to 5, 19, and 20 LB FT. A level is recommended to ensure brackets are level with the vehicle during installation.
The manual does not specify removal of any components. However, you will need access to the pinch weld and inner rocker panel to drill mounting holes. Check that the area is clear and accessible before beginning. Refer to the specific bracket package instructions for any vehicle-specific preparation.
Yes, drilling is required. For the driver side, you must drill two 3/8" diameter holes through the middle of the pinch weld for the bottom mounting holes. For the passenger side, you must drill four 3/8" diameter holes through the pinch weld. Additionally, you must drill two 5/32" holes through the inner rocker panel for each bracket (two per bracket) to install self-tapping screws. Hole locations are measured from the front wheel well opening and shown in the installation figures.
The 3/8" holes are drilled through the middle of the pinch weld. Locations are measured from the front wheel well opening and shown in Figure 1 (driver side) and Figure 3 (passenger side). The driver side requires two holes; the passenger side requires four holes. Refer to the installation figures in your bracket package for exact measurements.
1. Install the bracket package first per its included instructions. 2. Drill five 1/8" pilot holes in each step pad using the holes in the pad as a guide. 3. Attach step pads to step plates with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #7). 4. Install the required number of square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 LB FT. 6. Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 7. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Place the step pads (Item #3) on top of the step plates. Using the holes in the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" pilot holes. Attach the pads with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #7) provided. Repeat this process for all step pads.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #5) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. This ensures proper alignment and weight distribution.

With the brackets in place, use the top two holes in each bracket as a guide and drill two 5/32" holes through the inner rocker panel for each bracket. 4. Install the 1/4" x 3/4" self-tapping screws (Item #5) with care not to over-tighten.

All 5/16" nuts and bolts must be torqued to 20 LB FT. This applies to the hex head cap screws (Item #2) and serrated flange nuts (Item #4) used to secure the brackets to the vehicle.
The end caps (Item #4) must be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #6) on the square head screws (Item #5) must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Five 1/8" diameter pilot holes are drilled in each step pad using the holes in the pad as a guide before attaching with tek screws.
