Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Toyota Tacoma (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal oval step boards available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. They are designed as a universal application, meaning they can be adapted to multiple vehicle types through the use of vehicle-specific bracket packages. The steps come in different lengths (69.0", 75.0", and 85.0") and are available in silver or black aluminum. Fitment depends on using the correct bracket package for your specific vehicle.
Model 570553 Mega Steps brackets are designed specifically for 2005 and newer Toyota Tacoma Access and Double Cab pickups, and 2007 and newer Toyota FJ Cruiser. If your vehicle is not one of these models, this bracket will not fit. You will need to verify your vehicle model and year match these specifications before purchasing.
Step pad location varies by vehicle model and cab style. The manual provides a positioning guide table on Sheet 2 with specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle. Examples include: Silverado/Sierra Double Cab (14-3/4" and 46-3/4"), Ford F150 Super Crew Cab (18-1/4" and 56-1/2"), and Toyota Tundra Crewmax (8-1/4" and 54-1/4"). However, the manual notes these are suggestions only and pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 step extrusions (aluminum, 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" length, silver or black), 4 step pads (aluminum, black), 4 end caps (plastic), 24 square head bolts (5/16"-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18, stainless steel), and 20 tek screws (8-18 x 1/2", stainless steel). The bracket package is sold separately and must be obtained for your specific vehicle.
The Mega Steps bracket kit (model 570553) includes: 6 mounting brackets (right and left, Toyota Tacoma specific), 6 square head screws (5/16"-18 UNC), 14 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18 UNC, stainless steel), 10 hex head cap screws (M8-1.25 x 25mm, zinc plated), 10 flat washers (5/16", zinc plated), and 4 spacer washers (3/8", zinc plated). The step board assembly is sold separately.
Yes. The manual explicitly states to read instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting installation. This applies to both the O-MEGA II and Mega Steps products.
Yes. For O-MEGA II steps, the manual states: "Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package that you are using, to mount the brackets to your vehicle." The bracket installation instructions are not included in this manual and must be obtained separately with your bracket package.
Yes. Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, you must drill 5 holes in the step plates using the step pad as a guide. Drill (5) 1/8" holes through the step plate, then attach the step pads with (5) 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (Item #6). This drilling must be done for each step pad.
Follow this sequence: 1) Position step pads on top of step plates using the vehicle-specific location guide. 2) Drill (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide and attach with (5) 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws. 3) Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 4) Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb ft. 5) Position the step on mounting brackets so square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 6) Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
The Mega Steps bracket uses existing M8-1.25 factory nuts with slotted plastic plugs located on the inclined interior surfaces of the rocker panel. Position the brackets so the holes line up with these 8mm metric nuts. Attach each front bracket with one M8-1.25 x 25mm hex head cap screw (Item #5) and one 5/16" flat washer (Item #6). Attach each center and rear bracket with two screws, two washers, and one additional 3/8" washer (Item #7) used as a spacer between the bracket and rocker panel.
Insert three (3) 5/16" square head screws (Item #3) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear. Locate the step in and out as desired. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft. Install 5/16"-18 serrated flange nuts on any unused square head screws in the inboard slot of the step and tighten to 19 lb ft.
The end cap nuts (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb ft. The step must be centered front to rear on the vehicle before final tightening.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #4) on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb ft. This applies to both the screws in the center slot used for mounting and any unused screws in the inboard slot.
The step pad mounting holes are 1/8" diameter. Five holes are drilled through each step plate using the step pad as a guide, and the pads are attached with (5) 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws.
The Mega Steps bracket attaches to existing M8-1.25 factory nuts in the rocker panel using M8-1.25 x 25mm (approximately 1.00" long) zinc plated hex head cap screws (Item #5). Each screw is paired with a 5/16" zinc plated flat washer (Item #6). Center and rear brackets also use an additional 3/8" zinc plated flat washer (Item #7) as a spacer between the bracket and rocker panel.
