Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. This package includes the side steps only and requires mounting brackets for a complete installation (sold separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Each kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (available in silver or black, in three length options), 4 step pads, 4 end caps, 24 square head bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 20 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The specific extrusion lengths depend on your model number (583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, or 584088). You will also need to obtain the appropriate bracket package separately, which includes its own installation instructions.
The O-MEGA II steps are designed for universal application. The manual provides specific step pad positioning guidance for Chevrolet Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon XL; RAM Quad Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab; Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and Durango; Ford F150 and Super Duty (various cab styles); and Toyota Tundra and Tacoma models. If your vehicle is not listed, contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm fitment, as the manual does not specify compatibility for other vehicles.
The manual lists all six model numbers but does not explain the differences between them or which model corresponds to which vehicle or extrusion length. Contact Curt Manufacturing or your dealer to determine which model is correct for your specific vehicle and application.
The manual specifies that you will need a drill to create 1/8" holes for the step pad attachment. No other tools are explicitly listed. The manual also references a separate bracket package with its own instructions; consult those instructions for any additional tools required for bracket installation.
Yes. The manual states: "Follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package that you are using, to mount the brackets to your vehicle." The bracket package instructions are separate from these step installation instructions and must be followed first to mount the brackets before attaching the O-MEGA steps.
1. Read all instructions and verify all parts are on hand. 2. Follow the separate bracket package instructions to mount brackets to your vehicle. 3. Position step pads on the step plates using the vehicle-specific measurements in the Step Pad Location Guide. 4. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide and attach pads with TEK screws. 5. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 6. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb-ft. 7. Position the step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. 8. Install serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Yes. Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill five 1/8" holes in each step plate using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads with #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws. Drilling is required for each step pad (you will repeat this for all four pads).
The nuts on the end caps (item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) that secure the square head screws (item #4) to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Step pad positioning varies by vehicle model. The manual provides a Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 with specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B for each vehicle. For example, Silverado/Sierra Double Cab uses Pad A at 14-3/4" and Pad B at 46-3/4". The note states these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. If your vehicle is not listed in the guide, consult the manufacturer for recommended positioning.
Step pads are attached using five #8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (item #6) per pad. After positioning the step pad on the step plate, drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then insert the TEK screws through the pad into the plate.
The steps are secured to the mounting brackets using 5/16" square head bolts (item #4) and 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5). The square head bolts are installed into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates and then inserted into the slots of the mounting brackets. The serrated flange nuts are then installed on the bolts and tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The kit includes 24 square head bolts (5/16-18 x 1", item #4) and 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18, item #5). This allows for multiple fastening points on each step.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
End caps (item #3) are plastic caps (2.95 x 6.70 inches) that are installed on the ends of the step extrusions. They are secured with nuts that must be tightened to 5 lb-ft. The manual references Figure 1 for installation details, though the figure is not visible in the provided text.
The steps are universal application with specific pad positioning for Chevrolet, RAM, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota trucks. Check the Step Pad Location Guide for your exact model, or contact the manufacturer if your vehicle is not listed.
You will need a drill to create 1/8" holes for step pad attachment. Follow the separate bracket package instructions for any additional tools required for bracket installation.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes in each step plate to attach the step pads with TEK screws.
End cap nuts: 5 lb-ft. Serrated flange nuts securing steps to brackets: 19 lb-ft.
Yes. You must follow the separate bracket package instructions first to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the steps.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on page 2 to find the correct measurements for your vehicle model. Pad positions vary by cab style and wheelbase. Positions are suggestions and may be adjusted at your discretion.
