These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. No. The W2W Mega Step Bracket model 570938 is designed specifically for 09-16 RAM 1500 Pickups. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are listed as a universal application, but you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle.
The step pad location guide covers Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra (Double, Extended, and Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, RAM Quad, Crew, and Mega Cab, Ford F-150 (Super Cab and Super Crew Cab), and Ford Super Duty (Super Cab and Crew Cab). Pad locations are provided as suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps require a bracket package specific to your vehicle. You must follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the O-MEGA steps.
Yes. The manual requires you to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting the installation.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes in the step plates using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five 8-18×1/2" TEK screws (Item #6). This must be done for all step pads before attaching them to the brackets.
Yes. 2009-2012 RAM trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, follow step 2.5 to position the bracket, then mark the pinch weld for drilling before installing the fasteners.
No. 2013-2016 RAM 1500 trucks have obround holes in the pinch weld. You align the bracket holes with these existing holes and insert the carriage bolts without drilling.
The end caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb ft.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to position the step pads for your particular vehicle. Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately ½" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) and tighten to 19 lb ft.
1. Install the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) by aligning its lower mounting flange holes with the pinch weld obround holes, insert two 1/4-20×1" carriage bolts (Item #18) with washers and flange nuts (Items #19-20), leave finger tight. 2. Insert an M8×25mm screw (Item #21) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #22) through the upper mounting flange slots, leave finger tight. 3. Repeat for middle (Item #2) and rear (Item #3) brackets. 4. Mirror this process on the passenger side using Items #2 (front), #1 (middle), and #4 (rear).
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (Item #24) into the large obround hole with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud exposed. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #25) to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Install the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) with two 1/4-20×1" carriage bolts (Item #18), washers (Item #19), and flange nuts (Item #20), leave finger tight. 3. Place a flat washer (Item #22) and M8 flange nut (Item #23) on the T-bolt threaded stud, leave finger tight. 4. Rotate the T-bolt so the nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange, insert an M8×25mm screw (Item #21) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #22), leave finger tight. 5. Repeat for middle and rear brackets, then mirror on the passenger side.
Use 1/2-13×1.00" hex screws, 1/2" washers, and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (Items #10, #11, #12). These brackets are not the same from left to right and must be left loose during initial installation.
To attach to the inboard bracket: use two 3/8-16×1" hex screws, two 3/8" washers, and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (Items #9, #16, #17). To attach to the frame: use one 1/2-13×1" hex screw, one 1/2" washer, and one 1/2-13 serrated flange nut (Items #10, #11, #12). Leave this bracket loose during initial installation.
Use two black 5/16-18×1" hex screws, two black 5/16" washers, and two black 5/16-18 flange nuts (Items #13, #14, #15) to attach the outboard bracket to the inboard W2W bracket. Leave this bracket loose during initial installation.
Install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. This allows for proper alignment and positioning before final tightening.
Five 1/8" holes must be drilled in the step plates using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five 8-18×1/2" TEK screws (Item #6).
Two 5/16" holes must be drilled in the pinch weld for each bracket. Position the bracket first, then mark the pinch weld for drilling.
