The O-MEGA II 6" OVAL STEPS are designed for universal application. However, you must use a bracket package specific to your vehicle. The manual provides step pad location guidance for Silverado/Sierra (Double, Extended, and Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express Van, GMC Savana Van, RAM (Quad, Crew, and Mega Cab), and Ford F150 and Super Duty models. Consult the bracket package instructions for your specific vehicle to confirm fitment.
The W2W MEGA STEPS BRACKETS (model 570829) are designed for 2008 and newer Ford Super Duty Super Cab and Crew Cab pickups only. If you have a different cab style or model year, these brackets will not fit. Confirm your vehicle year and cab configuration before purchasing.
The O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (length varies by model), 6 step pads, 4 end caps, 28 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1"), 28 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 30 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). You must also obtain the bracket package specific to your vehicle, which is not included. Check the Service Parts List on the manual to verify all items are present before installation.
The W2W MEGA STEPS BRACKETS kit includes: 2 front mounting brackets, 6 standard mounting brackets, 10 square head screws (5/16-18), 32 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 8 multi-thread U-nuts (5/16-18), 12 zinc-plated hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 12 zinc-plated flat washers (5/16), 8 black-plated hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 8 black-plated flat washers (5/16), 2 upper rear mounting brackets, 2 lower rear mounting brackets, 2 hex head cap screws (7/16-14 x 1-1/2"), 2 serrated flange nuts (7/16-14), and 2 flat washers (7/16). The mega step board assembly is sold separately.
Yes. Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill five (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five (5) 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws provided in the kit. This drilling is required for all step pads.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 of the manual for your specific vehicle model. The guide provides measurements for Pad A (distance from front) and Pad B (distance from front) for each vehicle type. Note: Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately 1/2" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly. The pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
1. Install step pads on step plates using 1/8" drilled holes and 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws. 2. Install square head bolts into designated slots in the bottom of step plates. 3. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 LB FT. 4. Position the step on mounting brackets so square head screws are in bracket slots and step is centered front to rear. 5. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT. Follow the bracket package instructions specific to your vehicle before beginning.
1. Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third rocker panel patterns, and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern, with threads facing inside the rocker panel. 2. Attach front and standard cab mounting brackets to the vehicle using the existing hole patterns. 3. Attach the mega step board to the cab mounting brackets. 4. Attach the rear mounting bracket against the top of the vehicle spring hanger. 5. Install the bottom mounting bracket. Tighten all fasteners to specified torque values.
End caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" square head screws (Item #4) with 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
All 5/16" fasteners (hex head cap screws, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts) must be tightened to 19 LB FT. All 7/16" fasteners (hex head cap screws, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts) must be tightened to 40 LB FT.
Install 5/16" multi-thread U-nuts (Item #6) in the existing rocker panel mounting hole patterns. Starting at the front, install U-nuts in the top rear hole of the first, second, and third patterns, and in the front top hole of the fifth (rear) pattern. Insert the threaded half of the U-nut through the large access holes and slide it towards the round hole until it seats. The threads must face the inside of the rocker panel.
Position the front mounting bracket (Item #2) so the top hole lines up with the multi-thread U-nut and the bottom hole lines up with the hole in the pinch weld. The front bracket has a 3/16" offset at the top. Position standard mounting brackets (Item #3) similarly. Attach the top with a 5/16" x 1.00" zinc-plated hex head cap screw and flat washer. Attach the bottom to the pinch weld with a 5/16" x 1.00" black-plated hex head cap screw, black-plated flat washer, and serrated flange nut. Level the brackets and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
Insert five (5) 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are located in the bracket slots and the rear of the step is about even with the front metallic flange of the rear wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Attach the upper rear mounting bracket (Item #11) against the top of the vehicle spring hanger so the flat surfaces meet. Install a 7/16-14 x 1-1/2" hex head cap screw (Item #13) down through the top of the lower bracket (Item #12) and the upper bracket. Attach a 7/16-14 serrated flange nut and washer (Items #14 and #15). Install the lower mounting bracket so the vertical surfaces meet. Install 5/16-18 x 1.00" hex head cap screw, washer, and serrated flange nut (Items #7, #8, #5). Install the mega step on top of the lower bracket, align with the front step, and tighten with 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts. Tighten 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT and 7/16" fasteners to 40 LB FT.
