Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for practical access to the bed of your truck, featuring an extended length and extra rear step pads. Wheel-to-wheel running boards give you a solid step up for easily reaching items in the truck bed, such as a truck tool box, ladder rack, 5th wheel hitch or other equipment. Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. This particular set of LUVERNE Regal 7 oval wheel-to-wheel steps is designed to fit specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

The Regal 7 Oval Steps come pre-assembled from the factory. The package includes the step assembly with a serial number label located on the front inside driver's side, end caps, step pads, fasteners (carriage bolts, hex bolts, washers, and nylock nuts), and support mounting plates. Specific contents vary by model; refer to the service parts list for your model number (477097, 477101, 477113 for extended cabs; 477102, 477108, 477114, 477125 for crew cabs).
The model 400938 bracket kit is designed for 2009 and newer Dodge Ram 1500 cab pickups. If your truck is a 2009–2012 model, note that these trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Trucks from 2013 onwards have threaded inserts in the rocker panel, which simplifies installation.
These are extended cab models that differ by bed length. Model 477097 is 96" long, model 477101 is 100" long, and model 477113 is 112" long. Each model has left-hand and right-hand step assemblies. Confirm your truck's bed length before ordering to ensure proper fitment.

The step is attached using 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolts (item #10), 5/16" flat washers (item #11), and 5/16-18 serrated flange nuts (item #12). One set of these fasteners is used per support mounting plate. The manual supplies 20 of each fastener type to accommodate multiple steps.
Yes. The manual states to follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle first. The steps are then attached to the pre-installed brackets. For the 400938 bracket kit on Dodge Ram trucks, detailed bracket installation instructions are provided in steps 2 and 3 of the manual.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Insert a 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt through the support mounting plate and bracket. 4. Add a 5/16" flat washer and 5/16-18 serrated flange nut. 5. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
All 5/16" fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT. This applies to the hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes with the obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #16) through the lower flange and pinchweld. 4. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #17) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #18); leave finger tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #19) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #20) through the upper mounting flange slots; leave finger tight. 6. Repeat for middle and rear brackets. 7. Mirror this process on the passenger side, using item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (item #22) into the large obround hole on the rocker panel's vertical wall, nut end first, leaving the threaded stud exposed. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (item #23) to the stud to prevent it falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes with the obround holes in the pinchweld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #16) through the lower flange and pinchweld. 5. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #17) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #18); leave finger tight. 6. Place a flat washer (item #20) and M8 flange nut (item #21) on the T-bolt's threaded stud; leave finger tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #19) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #20); leave finger tight. 9. Repeat for middle and rear brackets. 10. Mirror on the passenger side.
Yes. 2009 to 2012 Dodge Ram trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld. You will need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, follow step 2.5 to install the T-bolt weldment, then skip to steps 2.7 and 2.8. With the bracket in place, mark the pinchweld for drilling, then drill the 5/16" holes.
1. Attach the inboard mounting brackets (items #3, #4) to the frame using 1/2-13 x 1.00" hex screws, 1/2" washers, and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (items #10, #11, #12); leave loose. 2. Attach the W2W support bracket (item #6) to the inboard bracket using two 3/8-16 x 1" hex screws, two 3/8" washers, and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (items #7, #8, #9), and to the frame using a 1/2-13 x 1" hex screw, a 1/2" washer, and a 1/2-13 serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12); leave loose. 3. Install the W2W outboard bracket (item #5) to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16-18 x 1" hex screws, two black 5/16" washers, and two black 5/16-18 flange nuts (items #13, #14, #15); leave loose.
All fasteners should be left finger tight during the initial installation steps. Tighten all fasteners only after the step plates have been installed and the brackets and boards have been adjusted to the correct position. This allows for proper alignment before final tightening.
When installing the T-bolt weldment (item #22) into the large obround hole on the rocker panel's vertical wall, insert the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Immediately attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (item #23) to the threaded stud. The manual warns to be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel, and the bolt retainer is specifically designed to prevent this.
The Regal 7 Oval Steps are available in multiple lengths for extended and crew cabs: extended cabs in 96", 100", and 112"; crew cabs in 100", 106", 112", and 123". Confirm your truck's bed length and cab style before purchasing. Each model has a specific part number.
