Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. The Regal 7 Oval Steps come pre-assembled from the factory. The kit includes the left and right step assemblies (which vary by model and bed length), end caps, step pads, support mounting plates, and fasteners (carriage bolts, hex head screws, washers, and nylock nuts). The serial number label is located on the front inside of the driver's side step assembly. Specific part numbers and quantities are listed in the service parts list based on your model.
The W2W Mega/Grip Step Brackets are designed for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 Pickups. The manual specifies that the rear bracket orientation differs between Regular/Quad/Crew Cab pickups and Mega Cab pickups, so installation procedures vary by cab style.

No. For Regular Cab pickups, only the front and rear cab mounting brackets are used. The center mounting bracket and its fasteners may be discarded and are not needed for installation.
The step assembly is attached using 5/16-18 x 1 inch black stainless steel hex bolts, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts (items #10, #11, and #12). These fasteners pass through the support mounting plates and into the mounting brackets. All 5/16 inch fasteners must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You should consult the instructions included with your specific bracket package, as the manual references separate bracket-specific installation instructions.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting. The manual emphasizes this check at the beginning of both the Regal 7 and W2W bracket installation sections.
Set the step on the mounting brackets, then slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and position it above each bracket. The support mounting plates are then fastened to the brackets using the 5/16-18 x 1 inch hex bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts.
1. On the short threaded end of the stud (3 inch for rear, 4 inch for front), install a 3/8 inch serrated flange nut backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8 inch flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the serrated flange nut, with the stud end recessed approximately 3/16 inch into the rubber washer. 3. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8 inch serrated flange nut backwards near the bottom of the threads. 4. Insert the assembled stud through the lowest hole in the bracket's bent flange from the inboard (frame) side, and install a flange nut on the outboard end (finger tight only).
Position the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame. Once properly positioned, tighten the 3/8 inch flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB FT.
The rear bracket orientation differs between Mega Cab pickups and Regular/Quad/Crew Cab pickups. The manual directs you to refer to Figure 1 for Regular/Quad/Crew Cab installation and Figure 2 for Mega Cab installation. The specific orientation details are shown in those figures.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (items #7 or #8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (items #5 or #6) in the upper mounting location using three 3/8-16 x 1.0 inch screws, 3/8 inch flat washers, and 3/8 inch flange nuts (items #15, #16, and #19).
Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (item #9) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Place a 3/8 inch bolt and washer (items #15 and #19) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket, then fasten with a 3/8 inch serrated flange nut (item #16). Tighten the leaf spring bolt while ensuring the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (item #10) to the upper bracket (item #9) using a 3/8 inch bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #15, #16, and #19). Use the two lower holes in the upper bracket and ensure the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
Leave the following fasteners finger tight until all brackets are positioned: the M12 bolts attaching the front mounting bracket to the front body mount (section 4.1), the M12 bolts attaching the center mounting bracket to the center body mount (section 4.2), the M12 bolts attaching the rear mounting bracket to the rear body mount (section 4.3), and the flange nuts on the outboard end of the load reaction studs (section 3). Final tightening occurs after the load reaction stud assembly is positioned with the rubber cushion snug against the frame.
All 5/16 inch fasteners on the Regal 7 Oval Step must be torqued to 19 LB FT.
The 3/8 inch flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud bracket assembly must be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Use a 4 inch stud (item #18) for the front bracket and a 3 inch stud (item #17) for the rear brackets. Both studs are 3/8-16 double-ended steel studs.
The rubber cushion washer (item #14) has an outside diameter of 1.00 inch, an inside diameter of 0.354 inch, and a thickness of 0.75 inch. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16 inch.
The front and center mounting brackets are attached using M12 – 110MM bolts (item #11) with 2.0 inch washers (item #13). The rear mounting bracket is attached using M12 – 116MM bolts (item #12) with 1/2 inch flat washers (item #20).
