Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for practical access to the bed of your truck, featuring an extended length and extra rear step pads. Wheel-to-wheel running boards give you a solid step up for easily reaching items in the truck bed, such as a truck tool box, ladder rack, 5th wheel hitch or other equipment. Regal 7 oval side steps are fitted with large, non-skid step pads. They feature a 7" width and a textured surface, providing enhanced comfort and safety when climbing in and out of your pickup truck. The step pads and matching end caps of Regal 7 wheel-to-wheel steps are angled for a sleek accent. To ensure excellent strength and lasting corrosion resistance, Regal 7 oval side steps are constructed from stainless steel. The stainless steel tubing measures 7" wide and has an elliptical shape for style and strength. All Regal 7 side steps are designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific brackets. The brackets are built from strong carbon steel and have a durable black powder coat finish. They install using pre-existing mounting points on the truck to greatly reduce installation time and eliminate tedious modifications. Yes. The 401338 bracket kit installation is divided into two main sections: first, attach the mounting brackets to the vehicle (steps 2–2.10), then attach the upper and lower brackets to the leaf spring shackle mount (steps 3–5). The bracket installation must be completed before attaching the step boards.
1. Set the step on the mounting brackets. 2. Slide each support mounting plate (item #9) inside the oval step and above each bracket. 3. Using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" black stainless steel hex bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut (items #10, #11, #12), attach the step assembly, support mounting plate, and mounting bracket. 4. Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners to 19 LB FT.
1. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 2. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 3. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. 4. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10); leave finger tight. 5. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12) through the slots on the upper mounting flange; leave finger tight. 6. Repeat for the middle and rear brackets (item #2). 7. Mirror this process on the passenger side, using item #2 for the front bracket and item #1 for the middle and rear brackets.
1. Install the T-bolt weldment (item #14) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud protruding. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (item #15) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. 2. Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. 3. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. 4. Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #8) through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. 5. Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #10); leave finger tight. 6. Place a flat washer (item #12) and M8 flange nut (item #13) on the T-bolt threaded stud; leave finger tight. 7. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. 8. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #12); leave finger tight. 9. Repeat steps 2.5–2.8 for the middle and rear brackets (item #2). 10. Mirror this process on the passenger side.
Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (item #4) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Place a 3/8" bolt and washer (items #5, #7) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket, then fasten with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #6). Tighten the leaf spring bolt while ensuring the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (item #3) to the upper bracket (item #4) using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #5, #6, #7). Use the two lower holes in the upper bracket and ensure the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
Install the step plates and adjust the brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. This allows you to position the steps correctly before final tightening.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB FT.
The support mounting plates (item #9) are 11 gauge galvanized steel. There are 8 plates supplied with the step assembly.
