UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. This particular truck tool box features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. The kit includes one crossover truck tool box, one divider tray (not included with all models), two rail pads, two 3" J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. One key is also provided. Note that the divider tray may not be included depending on the model variant.

Before installation, read all instructions thoroughly. During placement, check clearance with the lid open to ensure it does not interfere with the cab. Ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed using a tape measure. Verify there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab.
The rail pads have an adhesive side. Attach one rail pad to the underside of each end of the tool box. Then place the tool box with the adhered rail pads on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a 3" J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten initially. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open, fully tighten all hardware.
The manual provides a general torque specification of 3 ft-lbs. for 1/4" bolts. However, the manual notes that these are general guidelines and recommends using the torque specifications provided with the hardware if purchasing fasteners separately.
