Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. Repeat on the other side. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and lid clearance is correct, fully tighten all hardware.
1. Place the tool box in the truck bed and check lid clearance. Attach rail pads to the underside of the tool box ends and position on the bed rails, centered with a tape measure. 2. Insert J-hooks under the bed rail lips with threaded ends up through the slots (one per side). Attach with washers and nuts, snugged but not fully tightened. Re-measure for centering and lid clearance. 3. Fully tighten all hardware. 4. Adjust strikers if needed and lubricate them and locks for optimum performance.
