Feed the carriage bolt and spacer through the access hole using the pull wires. Leave the pull wires attached. Raise the hitch and feed the pull wire through the hitch bracket slot. Then remove the pull wires and loosely install the conical washer and hex nut to the hitch.
All 7/16 inch fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 50 Ft.-Lb. (68 N·M). Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
