Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Yes, part numbers 25001, 78294, and CQT25001 are designed for 2021-Current Kia K5 models. Visit the manufacturer's website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific trim levels and model years.
The hitch is rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb (907 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 200 lb (90.7 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating or these limits.
Required tools: safety glasses, ratchet, 10 mm socket, torque wrench, tape measure, marker, utility knife, flat head screwdriver, exhaust hanger removal tool, tin snips, and grinder. The installation time for professional installers is approximately 60 minutes.
Yes. The forward attachment hole diameter must be enlarged to 1/2 inch on both sides using a grinder. The underbody panel and exhaust heat shield must also be trimmed using a tape measure, marker, tin snips, and utility knife according to the dimensions shown in the manual (16 inch, 10 inch, 10.5 inch trimming areas).
All 7/16-14x1.25 GR 5 fasteners must be tightened to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m). Proper torque is necessary to keep the hitch securely mounted to the vehicle when towing.
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. No electrical work is required for this hitch installation.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before removing rubber hangers. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver.
The fastener kit 25001F includes: (4) carriage bolts 7/16-14x1.25 GR5, (4) spacers 1.00 x 2.00 x 0.179, (4) conical washers 7/16 inch, (4) hex nuts 7/16-14 GR2, and (4) pull wires 7/16-14. These fasteners are used on both sides of the vehicle.
Yes, the authorized drawbar kit 3593 is compatible with the 25001 hitch and is sold separately. The drawbar must be used in the RISE position only.
The conical washer must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. This ensures proper seating and load distribution of the fastener.
Pull wires are used to feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the attachment holes via the access holes. The pull wires are left attached while the heat shield is reinstalled and the hitch is raised into position. They are then fed through the bracket holes and removed before the conical washers and hex nuts are installed.
The driver side underbody panel must be removed. Using a flat head screwdriver and 10 mm socket, remove (4) rivets and (2) nuts from the driver side underbody panel, then remove the panel.
Using an exhaust hanger removal tool, lower the muffler by removing the (2) rearmost rubber hangers. A spray of lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before removing the rubber hangers.
Three (3) nuts must be removed from the exhaust heat shield using a 10 mm socket. After removal, the heat shield is taken off to allow access for hitch installation.
The forward attachment hole diameter must be enlarged to 1/2 inch on both sides using a grinder. The rearward attachment holes and access holes have rubber plugs and covers that are removed but not enlarged.
According to Figures 3 and 4, the trimming areas are marked as 16 inches, 10 inches, 10.5 inches, and 16 inches. Use a tape measure, marker, tin snips, and utility knife to measure, mark, and trim the areas on both the underbody panel and heat shield as shown in the manual figures.
Four (4) carriage bolts with spacers, conical washers, and hex nuts are used on each side of the vehicle, for a total of 4 fastener sets. Additionally, (1) nut is used to reinstall the heat shield at the trunk pan stud location.
No. The conical washers and hex nuts should be loosely installed initially during step 6. All 7/16-14x1.25 GR 5 fasteners are then tightened to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) in step 7 after the hitch is in position and the pull wires are removed.
After trimming, (2) nuts and (1) rivet from the underbody panel will not be reinstalled. Similarly, (2) nuts from the heat shield will not be reinstalled after trimming. Only the fasteners necessary to secure the trimmed components are reinstalled.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Periodically verify that the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced.
Always wear your seatbelt. Load the trailer heavier in front. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or the hitch rating of 2000 lb (907 kg) GVWR and 200 lb (90.7 kg) tongue weight.
The manual states that fasteners should be checked frequently and periodically to ensure they remain properly tightened and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. A specific retorque interval is not provided in the manual.
The 25001 is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2000 lb (907 kg) and maximum tongue weight of 200 lb (90.7 kg). Weight-distributing capability is listed as N/A for this model.
A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair or continue using a damaged hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection during removal.
Yes. The manual states that if you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, please contact a professional installer. The average installation time for professional installers is 60 minutes.
The manual lists the 25001 as compatible with 2021-Current Kia K5 models. However, it recommends visiting the manufacturer's website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific trim levels and model years, as compatibility may vary.
Apply a spray of lubricant or soapy water to the rubber hangers. This makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Allow the lubricant to soak for a moment before attempting removal again.
Check all fasteners periodically to ensure they remain properly tightened. If fasteners are found to be loose, retighten all 7/16-14x1.25 GR 5 fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N·m) using a torque wrench. A loose hitch compromises safety and towing capability.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. Use appropriate plugs or covers to seal all attachment and access holes.
