Drill out existing holes on the inside of the frame end with the 17/32" drill bit, both sides (step 6). 4. Align the front hole of the baseplate with existing holes, insert the nut plate into the 1 1/4" hole, and fasten with hex bolts and lock washers, both sides (step 7). 5. Use the baseplate as a template to drill remaining holes with the 17/32" drill bit (step 7). 6. Insert nut plates into the 1 1/4" holes and fasten all bolts with Loctite Blue (step 7). 7. Reinstall the fascia (step 8). 8. Install the tow bar and safety cables per their instructions (step 10).

Permanent baseplate safety cables are strongly recommended when towing a vehicle with the BX3749 tow bar. The cables must be connected from the baseplate to the frame rail or cross member of the vehicle's frame. These cables prevent the towed vehicle from breaking loose if the connection between the frame and baseplate fails. The cables must remain installed as long as the baseplate is installed. Permanent baseplate safety cables are to be used in conjunction with, and NOT as a replacement for, legally required safety cables attaching the towed vehicle to the towing vehicle.
