The following must be temporarily removed: front fascia panels (seven push pins), bumper cover, air baffle, windshield washer reservoir, and temperature sensor (if present). Coolant lines must also be repositioned. All components are reinstalled after the base plate is secured.
Yes. Four 13/32" holes must be drilled in the vehicle frame using the side plate as a guide (Step 14). Additionally, a 9/32" hole must be drilled in the coolant line bracket to relocate the bottom coolant line (Step 16). These are permanent modifications to the vehicle frame and bracket.
Permanent modifications are required: (1) Cut a notch in the frame end on both sides using a reciprocating saw or cutoff wheel (Step 9). (2) Cut two horizontal lines on the frame support on both sides and bend back the cut tab with a hammer (Step 10). (3) Cut off a 1/4" wide area on the end of the bumper on both sides (Step 11); spray the cut area with paint or rust inhibitor to prevent rust. (4) Trim the front fascia to make space for relocated coolant lines, safety cable loops and attachment tabs (Step 19). For 2010 models, trim off the two outside bars completely on both sides.
All 3/8" bolts and nuts must be torqued to 37 lb-ft. This applies to the carriage bolts and flange nuts (Step 14), and the hex bolts with conical washers and nylock nuts (Step 15).
