Additionally, in Step 15, trim the bolt covers as needed to reinstall the ACC cover around the convenience links if the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control.
All 5/8" hex head cap screws, flat washers, and serrated flange nuts must be torqued to 180 lb-ft. This applies to the 14 fasteners securing the base plates to the frame (2 in the enlarged forward holes and 12 in the remaining frame holes).
All 1/2" hex head cap screws and serrated flange nuts must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. This applies to the 4 fasteners securing the safety chain plates to the base plates.

In Step 9, slide both base plates (#1 driver side, #2 passenger side) onto the frame and align them with the existing front tow hook holes. Install two of the 5/8" x 1-3/4" hex head cap screws with washers into the holes previously enlarged in Step 8, and secure with 5/8" serrated flange nuts. In Step 10, install the remaining 5/8" fasteners into the 3 inward holes and 2 outward holes on the frame as shown in the diagram. Torque all 5/8" hardware to 180 lb-ft.
In Step 12, install the permanent safety cables (#4) by looping them around the vehicle frame and linking them to the tow bar base plates. There must be one cable on each side of the vehicle. Ensure the cables do not pinch or interfere with any hoses, wiring, or other components.
In Step 14, insert two 1/2" x 2" hex head cap screws (#9) from the front with a 1/2" serrated flange nut (#10) on the backside to attach each safety chain plate (#5) on both sides of the vehicle. Torque the 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft.
In Step 4, on the passenger side, pass the engine heater plug through the backside of the bumper and let it hang out the front. Unclip it from the plastic mount on the bumper as well. This allows the bumper to be removed in Step 5 without damaging the heater plug.
