Engineered for specific makes and models, CURT custom 5th wheel brackets provide the ideal solution for complementing the power of your 5th wheel trailer hitch. A custom 5th wheel bracket features a shape that contours to the frame of your truck and uses pre-drilled holes in the frame wherever possible to make installation quick and easy. Depending on your model of pickup truck, they also reduce or eliminate the need for drilling. These particular custom 5th wheel brackets offer a custom fit for certain model years of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 1500 LD and GMC Sierra 1500 and 1500 Limited (see application info to verify fitment). Finished in a durable liquid A-coat, CURT custom 5th wheel brackets are made to last. They include all necessary mounting hardware and are designed to be used in conjunction with CURT industry-standard 5th wheel base rails #16104 or #16204 (base rails sold separately).

Yes. The factory brake line bracket must be unbolted and replaced with the supplied bracket (CM-BLB) using the factory bolts. The factory bracket is then re-attached to the supplied bracket. This prevents rubbing of brake lines on the U-bolt. The supplied bracket is included in the kit.
The frame rail must be clear of any electrical or brake components where the side plates attach. Before installation, check that no electrical or braking components are trapped between the frame and side plates. If components are in the way, they must be moved. In some cases, depending on the year and box size, the brake cable hanger may need to be attached through the side plate on the driver side.
Use a tape measure to center each mounting rail on the truck box floor and position it at the proper distance from the rear edge of the truck box as shown on the rail location diagram. For short box models, the hitch center line is 47.500 inches from the axle center line. For long box models, it is 52.375 inches. The distance from the cab to the hitch center line is 1.500 inches for both. If your truck has a spray-in bed liner, compensate for its thickness when measuring.

1. Place one mounting rail in the truck bed, centered and at the correct distance from the rear edge per the rail location diagram. 2. Mark hole positions with a center punch and drill 1/8" pilot holes. 3. Temporarily position the side plate to verify alignment with the drilled holes. 4. Enlarge holes to 9/16" with a step drill. 5. Place U-bolts on the frame and fasten the side plate hand-tight. 6. Reposition the mounting rail and fasten it to the side plates using carriage bolts and spacers. 7. Position the second mounting rail using the hitch tabs and push it tight toward the first rail, ensuring it is centered. 8. Repeat steps 2, 4, 6, and 7 for the second rail. 9. Torque all fasteners to specification.
Fasten the side plate to the frame hand-tight in step 5. Do not fully tighten fasteners until step 9, after both mounting rails are positioned and the second rail is aligned using the hitch. This allows for proper alignment before final torquing.
Place the unassembled fifth wheel, roller, or gooseneck hitch into the first installed mounting rail. Position the second mounting rail by inserting the hitch tabs into the mounting rail and pushing the rail tight toward the first rail. Ensure the second rail is centered on the truck box floor. If multiple hitch products will be used with the rails, use both at the same time to align the second rail and ensure proper fit of each product.
Spacers are placed between the frame bracket or mounting rails and the truck box to ensure metal-to-metal contact and to eliminate "rib crush" of the bed. The kit includes U-shaped spacers (.313" x 1.00 x 2.00"), square hole spacers (.250 x 1.50 x 2.00"), and larger square hole spacers (.375 x 1.25 x 2.50").
Depending on the year and box size, the brake cable hanger may need to be attached through the side plate on the driver side. To do this, remove the bracket from the truck, tip the bracket, thread it through the long slot, and rotate it into position. You may need to remove the brake lines from the bracket temporarily. When reinstalling the brake lines, push the bracket further through the plate and collect the lines with the bracket, ensuring they are in their original position.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. This is the primary safety requirement for safe operation of the hitch system.
The manual specifies that only supplied fasteners must be used for installation. Substituting fasteners of different grades, sizes, or materials could compromise the structural integrity and safety of the installation.
