This GMC / Chevy tow bar baseplate is constructed from high-quality steel and is precisely welded for a perfect fit. It is physically tested for absolute safety and peace of mind while dinghy towing. You must remove the two factory tow hooks by first loosening the two bumper bolts near the frame rails (Step 1), then removing the two bolts attaching each tow hook to the frame using an 18mm socket and wrench (Step 2). Pull the tow hooks out through the bumper openings and return them, their bolts, and the foam trim to the vehicle owner.
After removing the factory tow hooks and foam trim, you must trim the bumper cover opening as needed to provide clearance for the base plate. Try to keep the cuts even with the sides of the original recovery hook openings. This trimming is required on both the driver and passenger sides.
