UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. To add even more strength to the crossover truck tool box, the lid features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases the structural integrity of the lid to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lid is able to open to a full 90 degrees, providing better access to tools, equipment and other stored items. It also features self-opening struts to make it easy to open the box when your hands are full. This particular truck tool box features a low profile, meaning the lid is built lower than our standard lid. This provides a better view out the rear cab window and additional clearance for other items in the truck bed, if needed. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, the lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Gloss Black Aluminum 69" Angled Truck Tool Box, Low Profile TBS-69-A-LP-BLK (Part #BHSGTBS-69-A-LP-BLK) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. A divider tray is included with some models but not all. Refer to your specific product documentation to confirm what is included with your model.
The manual states the tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. However, the manual does not specify which vehicle models, years, cab styles, bed lengths or drivetrain configurations are compatible. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific truck.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
Yes. Before installation, place the tool box in the truck bed and check clearance with the lid open. Ensure there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. This prevents the lid from hitting the cab when opened.
Attach the adhesive side of each rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends. The rail pads are self-adhesive and help the tool box sit securely on the truck bed rails.
Use a tape measure to ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed. Measure from both sides to confirm equal spacing. Re-measure after installing the J-hooks and before fully tightening all hardware to ensure the tool box remains centered.
The J-hooks secure the tool box to the truck bed rails. Each J-hook is placed under the lip of a bed rail with the threaded end inserted up through a slot. The hook is then secured with a washer and nut. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side of the vehicle.
No. When first installing the J-hooks, snug the hardware with the washer and nut but do not fully tighten. After re-measuring to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has proper clearance, then fully tighten all hardware.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. However, it includes a warning to check under the vehicle before drilling into the truck bed to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer to confirm whether drilling is required for your specific truck.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. After drilling, treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes to prevent corrosion.
General torque specifications are: M6 or 1/4" bolt = 3 ft-lbs; M8 or 5/16" bolt = 7 ft-lbs; M10 or 3/8" bolt = 16 ft-lbs; M12 or 7/16" bolt = 28 ft-lbs; 1/2" bolt = 28 ft-lbs. These are general guidelines. If purchasing additional hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware. Proper torque helps prevent damage to the product and vehicle.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks or cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box's own weight capacity. Refer to your vehicle's owner manual for the truck bed weight limit.
Yes. This product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product installed.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. Ensure the tool box installation does not obstruct or damage any factory safety systems.
After installation, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Open the tool box lid and verify there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. Confirm the tool box is centered in the truck bed.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Before every trip, ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. If the strikers are ever out of alignment, simply loosen, adjust and re-tighten them.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. The manual does not specify vehicle models or bed lengths. Contact the manufacturer or your dealer with your truck's year, make, model and bed length to confirm fitment.
You need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. Installation is rated as Easy.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. If drilling is needed, you must check under your vehicle first to avoid puncturing brake lines, fuel lines, electrical wires or fuel tanks. Consult your dealer or the manufacturer.
