These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on receiver hitch features a 2-1/2-inch receiver with an 18-inch drop. It fits frames up to 62 inches wide. The side plates ship unattached from the center section, allowing for a flexible, adjustable installation and a custom fit. No installation hardware required! This welded universal hitch is also rated as a class 5 hitch, being fully tested to SAE J684 specifications. To protect this weld on receiver hitch from corrosion, it comes shielded with a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat.

1. Clean the vehicle frame and side plates down to bare metal at all weld locations, removing all powder coat and rust. 2. Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise into position. 3. Secure or clamp the side plates to the frame, centering the hitch center section between them. 4. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and to the hitch center section to AWS welding standards. 5. Trim any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
If metal surfaces are not completely bare of powder coat, rust, or other contaminants, the weld will not achieve the required strength and may void the warranty. All surfaces on the vehicle frame and hitch components must be cleaned down to bare metal at each weld location before welding begins.
The side plates must be welded to the vehicle frame and hitch center section to AWS (American Welding Society) welding standards. This ensures the structural integrity and safety of the installation.
