They are ideal for large pickup trucks, dually trucks, diesel trucks, service vehicles, flatbeds, chassis cab trucks and much more. These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on receiver hitch features a 2-inch receiver with an 18-inch drop. It fits frames up to 44 inches wide. The side plates ship unattached from the center section, allowing for a flexible, adjustable installation and a custom fit. No installation hardware required! This welded universal hitch is also rated as a class 5 hitch, being fully tested to SAE J684 specifications. To protect this weld on receiver hitch from corrosion, it comes shielded with a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat.

The CURT 15928 is rated for a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 16,000 lbs. and a tongue weight (TW) of 1,600 lbs. This rating applies when the side plates are mounted at a width of 42" or narrower and a drop of 9" or less.
The hitch center section is 44" maximum width with an 18" minimum width.

Yes, metal surface preparation is critical. All surfaces where welding will occur must be cleaned down to bare metal. If metal surfaces are not completely bare, the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty.
Yes, you may need to trim off any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed during the welding process.

Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise into position. Secure or clamp the side plates into position on the frame, centering the hitch center section between the side plates. 3. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and hitch center section to AWS welding standards. Trim any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
