They are ideal for large pickup trucks, dually trucks, diesel trucks, service vehicles, flatbeds, chassis cab trucks and much more. These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on receiver hitch features a 2-1/2-inch receiver with a 9-inch drop. It fits frames up to 44 inches wide. The side plates ship unattached from the center section, allowing for a flexible, adjustable installation and a custom fit. No installation hardware required! This welded universal hitch is also rated as a class 5 hitch, being fully tested to SAE J684 specifications for a gross trailer weight capacity of up to 20,000 pounds (NOTE: To achieve 20K rating, side plates must be welded 42 inches wide or less). To protect this weld on receiver hitch from corrosion, it comes shielded with a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat.

The CURT 15923 is rated for a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 20,000 lbs. and a tongue weight (TW) of 2,000 lbs. This rating applies when the side plates are mounted at a width of 42" or narrower and a drop of 9" or less.
The kit includes one 44" hitch center section, one driver-side side plate with 9" drop, and one passenger-side side plate with 9" drop.

The installation difficulty is rated as Difficult. This rating is based on the time and effort involved and may vary depending on the installer's level of expertise, the condition of the vehicle, and having proper tools and equipment.
All metal surfaces must be cleaned down to bare metal at each weld location. Clean the vehicle frame surface and remove any powder coat from the side plates where they will be mounted to the frame and hitch center section. Clean all powder coat from the center section where the side plates will be welded. If metal surfaces are not completely bare, the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty.
1. Clean the vehicle frame and all hitch components down to bare metal at weld locations. 2. Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise into position. 3. Secure or clamp the side plates into position on the frame, centering the hitch center section between the side plates. 4. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and hitch center section to AWS welding standards. 5. Trim off any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
The hitch center section must be centered between the side plates during installation. The side plates are secured or clamped into position on the frame first, then the center section is positioned centrally between them before welding.
