CURT weld on trailer hitch receivers offer a high-capacity, ready-to-work towing solution for your full-size truck or SUV. They are ideal for large pickup trucks, dually trucks, diesel trucks, service vehicles, flatbeds, chassis cab trucks and much more. These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on receiver hitch features a 2-inch receiver with a 9-inch drop. It fits frames up to 44 inches wide. The side plates ship unattached from the center section, allowing for a flexible, adjustable installation and a custom fit. No installation hardware required! This welded universal hitch is also rated as a class 5 hitch, being fully tested to SAE J684 specifications for a gross trailer weight capacity of up to 16,000 pounds (NOTE: To achieve 16K rating, side plates must be welded 42 inches wide or less). To protect this weld on receiver hitch from corrosion, it comes shielded with a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat.

The CURT 15927 is rated for a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 16,000 lbs. and a tongue weight (TW) of 1,600 lbs. This rating applies when the side plates are mounted at a width of 42 inches or narrower and a drop of 9 inches or less.
The hitch center section is 44 inches maximum width and 18 inches minimum width.
Both the driver-side and passenger-side plates provide a 9-inch drop.
Yes. This installation requires welding. The side plates must be welded to both the vehicle frame and the hitch center section to AWS welding standards. It is recommended to have two or three people during the install.

All metal surfaces must be cleaned down to bare metal at each weld location. Remove all powder coat from the side plates where they will be mounted to the frame and hitch center section, and from the center section where the side plates will be welded. If metal surfaces are not completely bare, the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty.
1. Clean all metal surfaces down to bare metal at weld locations on the vehicle frame and on the side plates and center section. 2. Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise it into position. Secure or clamp the side plates into position on the frame and center the hitch center section between the side plates. 3. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and hitch center section to AWS welding standards. Trim off any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
