They are ideal for large pickup trucks, dually trucks, diesel trucks, service vehicles, flatbeds, chassis cab trucks and much more. These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on hitch center section features a 2-1/2-inch receiver and measures 44 inches wide. It is rated for up to 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight. NOTE: This package includes the center section only. Side plates are not included.

It is rated to carry a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 16,000 lbs. and a tongue weight (TW) of 1,600 lbs. when installed with side plates mounted at a width of 42 inches or narrower and a drop of 9 inches or less.

All metal surfaces must be cleaned down to bare metal at each weld location. This includes cleaning the vehicle frame surface and removing all powder coat from the side plates and hitch center section where they will be welded together. If metal surfaces are not completely bare, the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty.
1. Determine where the side plates will be mounted to the vehicle frame and clean all surfaces down to bare metal. 2. Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise it into position. Secure or clamp the side plates into position on the frame and center the hitch center section between the side plates. 3. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and the hitch center section to AWS welding standards. Trim off any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
When you slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise it into position, you must ensure the hitch center section is positioned equally between the two side plates before clamping and welding. This ensures proper alignment and load distribution.
Trimming may be required. After welding the side plates to the vehicle frame and hitch center section, you should trim off any excess center section that extends beyond the side plates as needed.
