These weldable hitches are constructed from high-strength steel and come with a standard receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank, tow hook, winch mount or other heavy-duty accessories. This CURT weld on receiver hitch features a 2-1/2-inch receiver with an 18-inch drop. It fits frames up to 44 inches wide. The side plates ship unattached from the center section, allowing for a flexible, adjustable installation and a custom fit. No installation hardware required! This welded universal hitch is also rated as a class 5 hitch, being fully tested to SAE J684 specifications. To protect this weld on receiver hitch from corrosion, it comes shielded with a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat.

The CURT 15924 is rated for a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 20,000 lbs and a tongue weight (TW) of 2,000 lbs. This 20,000 lbs GTW rating applies when the side plates are mounted at a width of 42" or narrower and a drop of 9" or less.
The hitch center section is 44" in maximum width and 18" in minimum width. The side plates have an 18" drop. The center section can be trimmed as needed during installation to fit between the side plates.

Yes, the hitch center section may need to be trimmed. Step 3 of the assembly instructions states: "Trim off any excess center section beyond the side plates as needed." The center section is 44" maximum width and must be centered between the side plates during welding.
1. Clean the vehicle frame surface down to bare metal at all weld locations. Clean any powder coat from the side plates and hitch center section. 2. Slide the side plates onto the hitch center section and raise into position. Secure or clamp the side plates to the frame, centering the hitch center section between them. 3. Weld the side plates to the vehicle frame and hitch center section to AWS welding standards. Trim excess center section beyond the side plates as needed.
If metal surfaces are not completely bare, the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty. All powder coat must be cleaned from the vehicle frame, side plates, and hitch center section at all weld locations before welding begins.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product. Additionally, never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity when using the hitch.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure.
