If you own multiple trailers or frequently tow a variety of loads, you know how much time and money are spent tailoring your towing system to each and every individual trailer. There is nothing more inconvenient than switching back and forth between a few different ball mounts and trying to remember which mount fits with which trailer. A CURT adjustable ball mount is your multipurpose towing solution. This CURT adjustable deep drop channel-style ball mount has a shank size of 3" x 3" and features two different trailer ball sizes to accommodate two different coupler sizes: 2" and 2-5/16". It also features an adjustable shank assembly with multiple mounting holes for varying ball heights. Each trailer ball can be raised to a maximum of 8-5/8" rise or lowered to a maximum of 10-5/8" drop, allowing you to make your trailer completely level in any towing situation. The channel-style design and dual-pin mounting system also provide a built-in anti-rattle feature to eliminate obnoxious chucking noises. This CURT adjustable ball mount offers a gross trailer weight capacity of up to 10,000 lbs. for the 2" ball and 21,000 lbs. for the 2-5/16" ball. It allows you to tow a variety of heavyweight trailers, and it features two pin holes in the shank to be mounted at an 11" or 12" length. The adjustable channel-style shank can also be used with the channel-style combination pintle mount or ball mount platform attachment to give you the option of installing your own trailer ball size. All CURT channel-style adjustable ball mounts are made with sturdy steel construction and come with our black carbide powder coat finish for long-lasting rust, scratch and UV resistance.

The CURT 45928 is an adjustable channel-mount dual ball hitch that allows you to tow with either a 2" or 2-5/16" trailer ball. It inserts into your vehicle's trailer hitch receiver tube and lets you adjust the ball height to match your trailer coupler. The system includes a channel mount, dual ball, channel pins, clips, and a hitch pin with clip.
The CURT 45928 fits any vehicle with a standard trailer hitch receiver tube. However, you must verify that your vehicle's towing capacity meets or exceeds the weight capacity you need. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 45928 has two weight capacities depending on which ball you use: 10,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) with a 2" ball, or 21,000 lbs GTW with a 2-5/16" ball. These ratings represent the capability of the product only and do not reflect the towing capacity of your vehicle. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity or the capacity of any other component in your towing system.
The CURT 45928 includes: 1 channel mount, 1 dual ball, 2 channel pins, 2 channel clips, and 1 hitch pin with clip. All fasteners and pins needed for basic installation are provided. If you need a hitch lock (sold separately), it can be used instead of the hitch pin and clip.
The manual does not specify required tools. However, it notes that proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce installation time. No. Never hook trailer safety chains to the mount system. Instead, ensure the safety chains operate freely around the mount system and do not become entangled with it. This is a critical safety requirement.
You must use only the pins provided by CURT Manufacturing with the CURT 45928. The provided pins are specifically engineered for this system. Using any other pin could be a serious safety hazard and will void the warranty. If replacement pins are needed, they must be replaced with original factory mount pins from CURT.
Yes. The CURT 45928 can be secured with either the provided hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately). Both methods secure the channel mount in the receiver tube.
To adjust the ball height: (1) Determine the tow height needed for your towing situation. (2) Raise or lower the dual ball to the desired height.
