If you own multiple trailers or frequently tow a variety of loads, you know how much time and money are spent tailoring your towing system to each and every individual trailer. There is nothing more inconvenient than switching back and forth between a few different ball mounts and trying to remember which mount fits with which trailer. A CURT adjustable ball mount is your multipurpose towing solution. This CURT adjustable channel-style ball mount has a shank size of 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and features two different trailer ball sizes to accommodate two different coupler sizes: 2" and 2-5/16". It also features an adjustable shank assembly with multiple mounting holes for varying ball heights. Each trailer ball can be raised to a maximum of 5-1/4" rise or lowered to a maximum of 6" drop, allowing you to make your trailer completely level in any towing situation. The channel-style design and dual-pin mounting system also provide a built-in anti-rattle feature to eliminate obnoxious chucking noises. This CURT adjustable ball mount offers a gross trailer weight capacity of up to 10,000 lbs. for the 2" ball and 20,000 lbs. for the 2-5/16" ball. It allows you to tow a variety of heavyweight trailers, and it features two pin holes in the shank to be mounted at an 11" or 12" length. The adjustable channel-style shank can also be used with the channel-style combination pintle mount or ball mount platform attachment to give you the option of installing your own trailer ball size. All CURT channel-style adjustable ball mounts are made with sturdy steel construction and come with our black carbide powder coat finish for long-lasting rust, scratch and UV resistance.

The CURT 45902 is a dual ball mount with an adjustable channel mount system. It allows you to tow trailers using either a 2" or 2-5/16" ball coupler by positioning the dual ball at different heights within the vehicle's trailer hitch receiver tube. The channel mount slides into your vehicle's receiver, and you position the ball to match your trailer's coupler height.
The CURT 45902 fits any vehicle equipped with a standard trailer hitch receiver tube. It does not require vehicle-specific modifications. However, you must verify that your vehicle has a receiver tube and that you know your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity before using this mount.
The CURT 45902 has two weight capacities depending on the ball size used: 10,000 lbs. gross trailer weight (GTW) for the 2" ball, and 20,000 lbs. GTW for the 2-5/16" ball. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The product's ratings represent only the mount's capability, not your vehicle's total towing system capacity.
The CURT 45902 includes: one channel mount, one dual ball, one channel pin, one channel clip, and one hitch pin & clip. If you need a hitch lock instead of the pin & clip, it is sold separately.
Installation has two steps: (1) Insert the adjustable channel mount into your vehicle's trailer hitch receiver tube and secure it with the provided hitch pin & clip or a hitch lock (sold separately). (2) Determine the tow height you need, position the dual ball at that height in the channel mount, insert the provided channel pins through the channel mount and dual ball, and secure the pins with the provided channel clips.
The CURT 45902 is adjustable: position the dual ball at the height you need within the channel mount to match your trailer's coupler height. Insert the provided channel pins through the channel mount and dual ball at your chosen height, then secure the pins with the provided channel clips.
No. The provided pins are specifically engineered for this system. If replacement pins are needed, they must be replaced with original factory mount pins only. Use of any other pin is a serious safety hazard and will void the warranty.
No. Never hook up trailer safety chains to the mount system. However, you must ensure that safety chains operate freely around the mount system and do not become entangled with it.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 45902's weight ratings (10,000 lbs. for 2" ball, 20,000 lbs. for 2-5/16" ball) represent only the mount's capability. You must know the ratings of all components in your towing system—vehicle, hitch, wiring, brakes—and never exceed the limit of the lowest-rated component.
